A Very New Day
by Steve Salmon, published February 2017

Released February 2017, Middle Grade novel by author Steven Salmon takes readers on a journey of a young boy's first day in mainstream middle school, after being in special education classes up until that point.

Rich Trout is unable to use his hands. He drives his electric wheelchair and writes in Morse code with his head. He is inspired by his English teacher, Mrs. Tilley, who treats him like every other student. Rich wants to become a writer. Mrs. Tilley has a friend, who is an author with Cerebral palsy, and becomes a role model for Rich.

Rich is nervous like any other middle schooler on the first day of school, but having severe Cerebral palsy shouldn't make him that different. Others will learn that he's not so different after all. See and feel what Rich feels on that first day!
