Annie B. Shapero

Born and raised in Mid-Missouri, Annie B. Shapero spent her twenties in Rome, working as a freelance travel writer, English teacher, and translator. She has always loved language and is certain she would not be the woman or the writer she is today had she not immersed herself in a foreign one.

Shapero holds a BA from DePaul University in Playwriting and a minor in Modern Language (Italian), andSommelier certification from AIS Italia. She currently runs a wine consulting and communications agency (DiVino.Wine), and is the writer and producer of YouTube series 21 Days to Wine, an introduction to the language of wine tasting.

A regular contributor to Amex Essentials, her work has been published in Every Day Fiction, TheAutoEthnographer, Where Rome, Wine Enthusiast, Club Oenologique, and travel guidebooks from InsightPublications, Dorling Kindersley, and Time Out. She co-authored WHERE Publications, Rome: Shop (2009).

Annie lives and writes between New York City and Rome, Italy.
