WONDER by R.J. Palacio is my new favorite middle grade novel right now. I LOVE it, and you will too! This is a story of a young boy named August "Auggie" Pullman, who is a fifth grader with a wonderful human spirit. Born with a rare and jarring facial deformity, Auggie is finally going to a mainstream school for the first time. Take this journey with him to find out if he can make new friends and be just like the kids around him. Told from a few different points of view (himself, his sister, and even his sister's boyfriend) get a full picture of what a true hero really looks like!

EVERY DAY by David Levithan is my absolute FAVORITE young adult book right now... I make all my friends, my nieces, and my nephews read it! I had a particularly frustrating day with my submissions pile, and figured, "Hmm, I should take a break. Maybe I'm just in a blah mood." So I decided to take a lunch break and treat myself to a half-hour of reading a new book my daughter Heather bought me. That was at noon. Six and one-half hours later, I finished all 325+ pages of that wonderfully written novel. I literally could NOT put it down!
This is a story of a person named "A". Every day "it" is in a new body. Sometimes a boy, sometimes a girl. Different races, different religions, different cultures. One day, A falls in love with a girl. But what can "he" do about it? He knows in 24 hours, he will be a different person for each new day. How can this love possibly work, and will she believe A when he tells her what kind of being he is? Find out about true love and the power of the human spirit in EVERY DAY by David Levithan. It will change your life and how you look at things! (P.S. If this doesn't follow the trend of YA books being made into movies, I don't know what other book would!!) |

Tina P. Schwartz and Ronni Wyeth attended the UW Madison's Writer's Institute as attendees, speakers, and took nearly 50 pitch sessions in 2013. What a HUGE amount of talent discovered. Thanks to all who contacted us, and were brave enough to do an in-person pitch session. We are overwhelmed by the amount of excellent work we have to consider now. We hope to welcome some new writers to The Purcell Agency team soon!
