Hal Shepherd
Hal Shepherd developed a fascination with words and the writing process at an early age. Combining his passion for filmmaking and writing he was very successful in bringing unique creative projects into the lives of special needs children, as well as teaching creative writing to gifted adolescents at the College of Lake County.
He holds degrees in both psychology and education. His focus shifted to speaking on and teaching others about the creative process after writing his master’s degree thesis on the topic. He is a freelance writer and an award winning producer/director of a documentary on teenage peer pressure. He has co-facilitated the Far North Suburban Illinois chapter of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators with his, now agent, Tina P. Schwartz. NUKANEG is his current picture book project. |
