Petra Craddock
Petra Craddock has known she’s wanted to be a writer since she won an honorable mention for a young author’s contest in second grade. She loves to read and write, and inspire others to do the same. She went on to earn her BA from Augustana College, majoring in Education and minoring in English. Then she earned her MA in Language and Literacy from Roosevelt University, turning her passion for reading and writing into a career as a reading specialist.
Petra began writing children’s books when she became a stay-at-home mom. She has published easy readers in the education market and self-published picture books for Amazon Kindle. When she’s not writing, or chauffeuring her kids around, she is busy pursuing her other passion as a certified yoga instructor. She loves to travel when she can, and her first MG novel, The Farmdog Express, is inspired by the road trips she took every summer as a child. Craddock lives in the NW suburbs of Chicago with her husband and two children. She continues to read regularly, and she loves revisiting some of her favorite childhood books with her own little readers. One of her proudest moments was when her daughter was selected as a young author’s state winner for her district in third grade. |
